Interview With Christien Anholt (Eon)
Author: Ben 10
Christien Anholt is actor who play as Eon on Ben 10: The Race Against Time. If you like him maybe you interested to read an interview with him.
Tell us a bit about yourself and your role in the Ben 10 movie…
My name is Christien, I play EON in Ben 10, EON is Ben’s advisor an intergalactic alien who has been imprisoned on earth by the plumbers.
The animated world of Ben 10 is quite crazy. Were you anxious about how this would get transferred into live-action?
Not really, the level of computer graphic imagery today is so advanced, it almost has no boundaries.
Most readers will know Alex Winter, the movie’s director from his starring role as Bill in the Bill and Ted movies. What was he like to work with as a director?
Alex was absolutely fantastic to work with, we had a lot of fun making the movie. I would jump at the opportunity to work with him again.
Did you enjoy getting to play a villain in Ben 10? How did you find the costume for Eon?
I loved playing the villain, I have always been a fan of the villains. I am a huge star wars fan, and my favourite character is Darth Vader, so when I saw my costume for the first time, and put it on, I couldn’t help but say, “you don’t know the power of the dark side!” The costume was extremely hot, and it was very hard to hear through the helmet. we were filming at a old power plant, the temperature was over 100 degrees outside, I was sweating constantly, but totally worth it!!
Will Eon appear in the second Ben 10 movie?
I would be thrilled if he did, I don’t know to tell you the truth, you’ll have to wait and see.
Did you get any good anecdotes from the set?
The power plant we filmed at, was also the location for an episode of the bionic man, starring Lee Majors, who plays Ben’s gramps.
Obviously your own father was an actor too – did you become interested in acting because of him – or despite him? What memories do you have of him now?
I always wanted to act, I can’t imagine doing anything else, I am sure my Dad being an actor had some influence, I started acting at 7 years old. I worked only once with my Dad, and those are my fondest memories.
Would you encourage your own kids to get into acting?
If it was something they wanted, yes. Acting as an art is fantastic, but the journey can be extremely hard, it is not a profession in which simply having talent will guarantee one success. However, if you have a dream, GO FOR IT!
What’s next for you? Any exciting projects on the horizon?
Ha ha, let me get back to you on that one.
